For boat marketplaces

Every listing with a verified history.

A used boat is sold on photographs and the seller’s word. SoundHull gives a marketplace something better on every listing: the boat’s hull number, its earlier paperwork and a fresh inspection, all done by the seller before the listing goes live, all sealed and dated.

01 — The badge buyers look for

One mark on the listing, one page behind it.

A listing that has passed the check carries a SoundHull verified history badge. Behind it sits the boat’s public History Report: the hull number, every finding from the seller’s inspection with the fix and its likely cost, the earlier surveys and service records, and how many times the boat has changed hands on SoundHull.

Buyers stop guessing. Sellers with a well-kept boat finally have a way to show it.

02 — Three things every seller does

Identify it. Bring in its history. Scan it.

Before a boat is listed, the seller opens SoundHull from your site and works through three steps: the hull number moulded on the transom; the boat’s earlier paperwork, each document kept as uploaded; and a 46-point inspection of the boat, walked with the phone and signed at the end.

You decide the rules per marketplace: earlier records required with no exceptions, or an honest “no paperwork” declaration that buyers can see; and how recent a signed inspection must be.

03 — It plugs into your listing flow

Two calls and a button.

When a seller starts a listing, your server asks SoundHull for a private link and shows the seller “Verify with SoundHull”. When the three steps are done, SoundHull tells your system with a signed message and the seller is sent back to your page.

Your developers get a partner key and a short guide. The seller never leaves your brand for long, and you never receive their SoundHull account details — only the boat, the step status and the public report link.

04 — What a buyer reads

Findings, fixes and costs — not adjectives.

The report lists what the inspection found, worst first, with the repair each item needs and an indicative range for labour and parts. Items already repaired say so. Items the seller’s paperwork records from years ago are shown as imported, clearly separate from what SoundHull inspected.

It is written for a buyer, not a surveyor: plain words, one page, printable.

05 — What it means for the platform

Fewer disputes, and a reason to list with you.

Every listing becomes a record rather than a claim. When a sale goes wrong today, the argument lands on the marketplace’s reputation; with a sealed, dated record on the listing, both sides start from the same facts.

Sellers who look after their boats get a visible advantage. Buyers learn that your listings come with a history. That is a reason to list with you rather than the next site along.

What this is, and is not
  • Not a marine survey, not a valuation. SoundHull flags what a camera and a guided walk can see; a surveyor with a moisture meter still finds what they cannot, and nothing in the report puts a price on the boat. Every report says so on its first page.
  • The seller does the work; the record is what makes it honest. Findings are dated and sealed with a fingerprint at signing, so an edit afterwards shows as FAILS VERIFICATION. Earlier paperwork is kept as the original document, unchanged.
  • Prices are indicative, never a quotation. Each fix carries a range for labour and parts so a buyer knows the scale of what they are taking on.
  • Where a seller has no earlier paperwork, the marketplace decides whether an honest declaration is enough — and buyers see that declaration.
